Dominoes drone delivery service:
You have just watched a video on how Domino’s pizza is
experimenting with drone delivery of their pizzas. Please blog your answer to
the following prompt, 2-3 sentences, paragraph form, correct spelling and
grammar.
A drone seems like an efficient way to make deliveries for
many items; however there are also obstacles and unforeseen problems that could
cause the drone to malfunction upon the delivery. Can you elaborate on a reason
why a drone would not be able to deliver the product it was intended to
deliver?
I don't think it would work because people would try to shoot it down and steal the pizza.
ReplyDeleteOne reason my a drone would not be able to deliver the product would be because the product might fall off the drone on its way to the customer. This problem would allow for the drone to not be able to deliver the product
ReplyDeleteWell if I saw a drone flying over my house with a pizza I would definitely shot it down. It is a privacy problem and the drone itself could malfunction.
ReplyDeleteA drone might not be able to deliver to places that are too far away. Say the range is about 10 miles, there are a lot of people who live outside that range who wouldnt be able to get pizzas.
ReplyDeleteA reason why a drone would not be able to deliver a product is because it could easily get swept up by the wind. The wind can knock the drone out of the air or hit a tree, and the pizza's will fall off and will not be delivered.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem that these drones face would be weather conditions. Drones have a history of not working during cloudy and stormy days, and that would mean that they would not be able to fly for a portion of time. Domino's would have almost no delivery business in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteI think this idea wouldn't really work, the pizza might just get stolen.
ReplyDeleteI think that its a good idea but you can have bad weather and the drones could malfunction. Also the drones could get stuck in a tree or fall into water.
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't always be efficient because would if the weather is bad. Another reason is, its a easy way to steal pizza now.
ReplyDeleteWind turbulence, customers damaging the drone, harsh weather conditions, drones striking birds midair, human error, limited drone range, there are a lot of things that could go wrong with this. But admittedly, it is a really cool idea. The idea of getting a pizza delivered to my house by a flying robot is a pretty cool one. Very futuristic.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem would likely be weather. If the wind is to strong it might interfere with flight.
ReplyDeleteBecause, what if somebody brings it down and steals the delivery for them self as a resault, they as in dominoes would loose money.
ReplyDeletesomeone could somehow take the drone before it got to the buyers house and they could steal there pizza.
ReplyDeletethat it will be great so that the pizza boy or girl will not take that long to give me my pizza
ReplyDeleteThe sensor may not be able to reach the location that it is going to. The pizza could fall off of the copter if it tilted the wrong way. It could also get stained!
ReplyDeleteTwo of the problems could be weather and distance. The weather could destroy the drone causing the customers to not get their pizza and the distance could be too far causing the drone to lose range and not function.
ReplyDeleteits a good innovative idea but of course they will will have to make security measures which I'm sure they will.
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool but it could drop your pizza when it leans forward. Or it could get stuck in a tree while going to your house.
ReplyDeleteI do not think this would work because it seemed very easy for the pizza to fall off. Plus weather conditions, winds, rain, ect would interfere with the drone & the pizza.
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems would be the weather that could damage the drone and the pizza. Also someone could steal it.
ReplyDeleteThere are many reasons why this won't work. For example, the drone can accidentally drop the stuff it is delivering. That can happen if the drone loses grip or if a bird runs into it.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great idea but you will have to worry about the weather or if something goes wrong with the drone it could just fall out the sky and you will not be able to find it.
ReplyDeleteA drone would not be able to deliver the product because the pizza could fall off of it. How could the drone stand weather conditions? You can't have perfect success with the drone every time, there must be something that happens.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would work like other drones do. Because, now and days people tries to shoot it out of the air.
ReplyDeleteO
DeleteI personally don't think its the best because bad weather good cause minor to serious problems. Also people would most likely find a way to steal the pizza before it gets to the original destination
ReplyDeleteI think the drone is a good idea. During bad weather they should not be using a drone. It should have a pin that the customer would get after ordering the pizza. That way the only way to take the pizza from the drone would be the one who ordered it. That would make sure nobody could steal the pizza.
ReplyDeletethe drone could brake down and that some one could damage the drone while delivering the pizza .plus the weather conditions could carry away the drone
ReplyDeleteI don't think this will be a good idea. Anybody that sees it can throw or shoot at it and bring it down for themselves.
ReplyDeleteI don't think its an efficient way to deliver pizzas. Somebody can shoot at it and try to get it down and steal it and they would have a free pizza now also.
ReplyDeletel think this is a bad and lazy idea. i say this because some kids could throw some rocks at the drone, break it and and them selfs a nice done pizza
ReplyDeleteweather would be a major factor in when a drone would be able to deliver a pizza on time or not.
ReplyDeleteIf someone orders more than one pizza the donne could drop it because of the heavy load it has to carry.
ReplyDeleteIf it's raining outside I would much rather have a pizza that came out of a warm over a probably wet and soggy one. Also if not properly manufactured, rain can make it malfunction and my would end up at the bottom of a lake.
ReplyDeleteA obstacle that could stop a drone from delivering their pizza because someone could have speared it with their car right through a solid steel building. Or while it's driving it could get the wrong address, and end up at someone else's house who gets annoyed, and RKO's it outta nowhere.
